MORPHOLOGICAL AND FUNCTIONAL CHANGES CHARACTER IN THE TISSUES AT LIQUID MASSES FORMATION IN THE SUBCUTANEOUS TISSUE IN PATIENTS AFTER HERNIOTOMY

Objectives. To evaluate the morphofunctional changes in the tissues at the formation of fluid masses in the postoperative wound in the patients after herniotomy.
Methods. The object of investigation was the tissue of the abdominal wall around the fluid mass that was excised during the operations in 8 patients with the complications in the early postoperative period after herniotomy. The fragments of the cavity formation were fixed in 10% neutral formalin solution, after exposition in spirits they were coated with paraffin and then we made serial sections of 5-7 mcm in depth, stainedthem by hematoxylin-eosin, picrofuchsin by Van-Gizon, fuchsine and studied them under the light and confocal microscope.
Results. The morphofunctional changes character in tissues at the formation of fluid masses in subcutaneous fat in the patients after hernioplasty corresponds to an acute or chronic inflammation, what is manifested in the formation of fibrous capsule and exudation with a hemorrhagic component. The reason of residual space formation in subcutaneous fat and fluid appearance in it is the blood supply insufficiency (below of superficial fascia). This occurs because of subcutaneous fat separation from aponeurosis on the large area and gapping after operation.
Conclusions. In the patients after hernioplasty with the use of synthetic prosthesis the formation of the residual spaces is connected with inadequate fixation of the dermal-subcutaneous flap and circulatory disturbance in the subcutaneous tissue.
