BREAST CANCER SICKNESS RATE DYNAMICS IN VITEBSK REGION
The given article is prepared on the basis of epidemiological indexes study of breast cancer sickness rate among women of Vitebsk region. Data on breast cancer sickness rate are given for the period from 1975 till 2005. Constant annual increase in the number of patients with this form of cancer localization, who were revealed for the first time, is shown. In all age groups the increase of sickness rate was recorded, it was the highest in women over 75. Estimation of breast cancer sickness rate dynamics for the last 30 years according to the standardized techniques permits to ascertain that sickness rate has 2-3 times increased and in women city-dwellers it is always higher than in those living in a village. The diagnostic quality of breast cancer sickness rate for the analyzed period in Vitebsk region has been improved: percentage of morphologic verification has increased from 93% to 95%; number of patients, revealed at the 1st and 2nd stages of the disease has also increased; percentage of neglected cases has decreased. Study of breast cancer sickness rate peculiarities is the basis for scientific planning and estimation of measures, directed at prevention, in-time diagnostics, and adequate treatment of this category of patients.
